Building a Bespoke Commercial Property Search Tool

Our IT Development Team recently undertook a project for our Commercial Property and Projects Team to build them an online estate agent presence.

New templates have been developed which enable us to present a different layout to users when they arrive at this new section of the Ashford Borough Council website.

There is a search function, allowing users to find properties based on type, tenure, size and area. We have also provided a Favourites button so that users can save properties they wish to view again at a later date.

Featured properties display at the bottom of the property homepage. Images of these properties revolve in a carousel and you can hover over an image to get a description of the property, before clicking on it to view more information.

Each property has a link to an online enquiry form which can be completed by anyone who is interested in renting a property.

This new development, built in-house, will save the council money, as well as tying into our commercialisation agenda as we are making it easier for local businesses to rent council-owned commercial property.
